A global shift occurred after psychokinesis emerged in 0.1% of the population, leading to widespread conflict and instability. After years of turmoil and failed governance, psychic individuals established a secluded society governed by strict regulations to maintain peace. In Kamisu 66, 12-year-old Saki Watanabe gains her abilities and reunites with her friends at Sage Academy, a school for psychics. The group includes Satoru, Mamoru, Maria, and Shun, a boy Saki admires. As Saki begins to explore her powers, she becomes unsettled by the fate of those who never awaken their abilities. The children also encounter rumors of the Tainted Cats, who are said to abduct others. The story follows Saki and her friends as they navigate their roles in this isolated society, while uncovering troubling truths that challenge their understanding of their world.
