Thunderbirds 2086

The Thunderbirds are a rescue team operating under the International Rescue Organisation in the year 2086, a large entity managed by the Federation, a body similar to the United Nations. The series is set about twenty years after the original series, which is generally considered to occur around 2065. While no direct links are made between the original International Rescue and the IRO, it is implied the former may have evolved into the latter over time. The Tracy family is absent from the series, and the Thunderbirds are now the name of the team rather than just their vehicles. Each episode typically involves the team responding to a disaster, either natural or man-made. An ongoing plot follows the Shadow Axis, an independence group led by the enigmatic Star Crusher, who is suggested to be non-human, possibly an alien.
