Drossel von Flügel meets with Gedächtnis in the main hall of the Flügel Manor, (she calls him Sutersusetsu in this episode), and asks whether any mail has arrived at the mansion. Gedächtnis seems slightly uncomfortable with the question, but shows Drossel the many letters he has collected. He proceeds to explain that there is a city around the mansion and a desert around the surrounding city. Drossel claims she is exchanging letters with a person called Umerudeberu (although she has never left the mansion) and Gedächtnis suggests she use the transmission beam, which she turns down.
