Thanks to Gintoki and Katsura, the space pirates ship is brought down. Several antiforeigner factions use this opportunity to take down high government officials who profited from their illegal drug collusion with pirates and Amantos. The Shinsengumi is ordered to provide protection for the officials. Kondou unquestioningly carries out his duty, claiming that if it weren’t for the government the Shinsengumi wouldn’t be where it is today.
