Further inquiries among students and staff yield only the repeated explanation that the headmaster decided the transfers. Frustrated, Ciel devises a plan with Sebastian to set a fire in Violet Wolf dormitory to force all students, including Derrick, to come out. They hope this will provide the breakthrough they need in their investigation.

Alexis recalls that Sapphire Owl has won the tournament only once, with Ciel's father, Vincent Phantomhive, as the prefect and team leader.
