Ciel learns school norms from classmate McMillan and endures menial chores and a rough dorm welcome. Sebastian, now undercover as a housemaster, intervenes to moderate the hazing. Later, in the headmaster's office, Ciel discovers the prefects' crucial role and the headmaster's absolute authority. This knowledge sets the stage for his deeper involvement in school governance and mysteries.

Sebastian poses as a housemaster at Weston College, managing student transport and homework assistance. He simultaneously performs menial tasks for Ciel, such as sewing and baking desserts, despite finding the extra work tedious. Ciel demonstrates exceptional academic skill and efficiency, prompting classmates to vie for the privilege of serving as his fag. This attention culminates in an invitation from the P4, the college's powerful prefects, to meet at the Swan Gazebo. Ciel accepts the invitation, but Maurice Cole orchestrates a mix-up that causes Ciel to arrive late. The delay infuriates the prefects, creating tension during the scheduled meeting.

McMillan's Apology and Soma's Elephant Arrival at Weston College

McMillan apologizes to Ciel for failing to defend him and offers to testify that Maurice provided incorrect meeting times to the P4. The following day, Soma arrives at Weston College on an elephant, disregarding Ciel's orders to maintain their cover as strangers. Ciel reveals his need for Soma's assistance in gathering intelligence on Maurice, a request Soma accepts with enthusiasm despite his methods irritating Maurice. An incident involving the elephant results in Soma offering his bed to Maurice. Soma subsequently discovers Maurice's secret activities and reports them to Ciel and Sebastian. Armed with this evidence, Ciel confronts Maurice, who denies any wrongdoing. Ciel then executes a trap to expose Maurice's deceit to the P4, resulting in Maurice's disgrace. Ciel receives praise from his peers for his clever handling of the situation. Shortly after, Clayton asks Ciel to become his fag, which Ciel accepts.

After exacting revenge on Maurice and assuming the role of Clayton’s fag, Ciel faces obstacles due to school regulations and his low status, which limit his access to the headmaster. Consequently, he and Sebastian resolve to interrogate Gregory, the prefect of Derrick’s current house. The next day at the Swan Gazebo, Ciel learns about the annual cricket tournament from the P4 and their fags. The discussion turns personal, resulting in awkward teasing regarding Ciel’s fiancée, Elizabeth. When Ciel mentions Derrick, the P4 reacts with suspicion, strengthening his resolve to uncover the truth. Further inquiries among students and staff only reveal that the headmaster authorized the transfers. Frustrated by these dead ends, Ciel and Sebastian devise a plan to set a fire in the Violet Wolf dormitory, aiming to force all students, including Derrick, to emerge and provide a crucial breakthrough in their investigation.

Students evacuate Violet Wolf’s dormitory, yet Derrick and other missing peers remain absent. Desperate to see the headmaster, Ciel learns that the top student from the annual cricket tournament earns an audience. Sebastian enters Ciel into Sapphire Owl’s team to compete for this privilege. During the opening ceremony, Ciel meets Elizabeth and her parents. Alexis notes that Sapphire Owl has won the tournament only once, led by Ciel’s father, Vincent Phantomhive, as prefect and team captain.
