Kanashiki Debu Neko-chan

A cat named Maru is taken in by a girl named Anna from an animal shelter in Matsuyama city. Treated with care and given plenty to eat, Maru grows increasingly overweight, often sitting by the window watching the garden. The arrival of a new cat, Cerisier, leads to Maru feeling neglected as attention shifts. After a conflict with Cerisier and being hurt by the family's remarks, Maru takes advice from another cat and decides to leave home to explore the world.
