Goro Kumagaya, a tall and experienced middle-school goalkeeper, fails to enter the prestigious Yokonan high school due to an accident and ends up at a lower-ranked school. There, he meets Shingo, Hideki, and Kazuhito Oda, all skilled football players. Together, they form the Kawasaki High School football team and compete against Yokonan and other schools to improve and aim for the championship. Challenges they face become opportunities for growth, including the realization that Goro has a natural talent as a forward.
