A remote location on the border of No Man's Land is home to Clocktower Fortress, where the 1121st Platoon of the Helvetian Army is stationed. A 15-year-old volunteer named Kanata Sorami joins the unit with the goal of learning to play the bugle. As a child, she was rescued by a soldier whose trumpet playing left a lasting impression on her, sparking her passion for music. While the platoon trains her in both bugling and military duties, Kanata's positive attitude encourages her fellow soldiers to seek joy and beauty amid the hardships of war.
