Kokoro and Yuzu discuss their mothers, after which Kokoro accompanies Yuzu home. Kippei’s family welcomes Kokoro and invites her to remain for dinner. Kippei returns the repaired pajamas to Yuzu, who states she will wear the new pair but keep the old ones. Meanwhile, Reiko travels to Fukuoka to meet with Miyako. Miyako confirms her intention to take Yuzu back, though she admits she is not yet prepared to do so. Kokoro spends the night at Kippei and Yuzu’s residence.
