Yuzu seeks her mother's face while Kippei attempts to mend her cherished old pajamas.
Oct 2, 2004Yuzu dreams of her mother but cannot recall her face, prompting her to search for a pair of pajamas her mother made. Although the garment is now too small, she insists on wearing it. During play, Kippei accidentally tears the fabric. He purchases a replacement, yet Yuzu remains attached to the original. The following day, Kokoro discovers Kippei on the school roof attempting to repair the damaged item. To help, Kippei asks Kokoro to pick up Yuzu from preschool, allowing the two to spend quality time together while he works on the mending.

Oct 9, 2004Kokoro and Yuzu discuss their mothers, after which Kokoro accompanies Yuzu home. Kippei’s family welcomes Kokoro and invites her to remain for dinner. Kippei returns the repaired pajamas to Yuzu, who states she will wear the new pair but keep the old ones. Meanwhile, Reiko travels to Fukuoka to meet with Miyako. Miyako confirms her intention to take Yuzu back, though she admits she is not yet prepared to do so. Kokoro spends the night at Kippei and Yuzu’s residence.
