Poisoned, Hak hangs from a cliff edge while Yona attempts to reach him. Tae-Jun intercepts Yona, but she severs her hair with his sword to escape. As she tries to pull Hak up, both fall into the valley. Tae-Jun assumes they are dead and delivers Yona's hair to Soo-won, who is subsequently crowned king the next day. Yona awakens in Yun's hut, where Yun has rescued them. She meets Ik-su, the priest they sought. Hak remains unconscious and severely injured from protecting Yona during the fall, though Yun is currently providing medical treatment.
