Ryo and Xiang Ying settle into their shared life, prompting her to insist he undergo a medical examination, which confirms he is healthy. When Xiang Ying is also tested, results show an unusually high compatibility level with Kaori, suggesting her heart will not be rejected and that she may outlive Ryo, bringing her great relief. Later, Chen, Master Li's right-hand man, presents Ryo with a new ornate message board at Shinjuku Station displaying the text "XYZ: Be a good father - Li." Inspired by this message, Ryo decides to restart his City Hunter business.
