Xin Hong waits at the location Reiko predicted for Shougo’s death, where a heavily intoxicated Reiko approaches him. A gunman pursued by Xiang Ying arrives and takes Reiko hostage. Shougo cycles toward them, prompting the gunman to fire. Xin Hong jumps in front of the bullet, colliding with Shougo. Xin Hong survives with only a shoulder wound, and Shougo remains unharmed. Reiko later explains her previous warnings to Shougo and Si, clarifying why she advised against their unity. Ryo reveals that Xin Hong and Xiang Ying previously cheated fate, explaining their intense efforts to save Shougo. Reiko accepts that fate is mutable and offers to view Xiang Ying’s future, but instead witnesses her own happy future with her child.
