Ep. 4: Anne's Friendship Troubles and Recovery of Diana's Trust
Rachel advises Marilla to let Anne skip school for a week. During a tea party, Anne accidentally serves currant wine instead of raspberry cordial to Diana. This leads Mrs. Barry to ban Diana from speaking with Anne. The girls promise to remember each other, sharing a kiss and a lock of hair before parting. The next day, Anne attends school and acts as a model student, receiving gifts from classmates. She continues to exchange letters with Diana while ignoring Gilbert, achieving high marks. That winter, Anne treats Minnie May’s croup with ipecac, prompting Matthew to fetch a doctor. After Anne’s help, Mrs. Barry restores Diana’s friendship with Anne. Overjoyed, Anne shares the news with Matthew and Marilla, reads Diana’s letter, and falls asleep.
