Rin, Yukio, Shura, and Arthur attempt to destroy the Gehenna Gate but fail. Demons continue to attack the Exorcists until the Exwires devise a plan to open a gate to the Vatican. They reflect sunlight from the daytime Vatican to the nighttime Academy to weaken the monsters guarding the gate. Seizing this chance, Rin and Yukio unlock their demonic powers together and fly through the gate to destroy it. One month later, life returns to normal at True Cross Academy. The Okumura twins visit their mother's grave before resuming their duties as Exorcists. The group successfully neutralized the threat after their initial unsuccessful joint effort.
