Yasuko asks Fumi to leave the basketball club due to aesthetic concerns, leading to a regretful conversation before Yasuko requests a date. Kyouko interrupts to signal departure, after which she arranges a group date for Akira with her nominal fiancé, Kou Sawanoi. During this event, Kou notices a man in sunglasses watching them, causing Akira’s older brother Shinobu to embarrass her into tears. Meanwhile, Yasuko and Fumi enjoy a walk along the sea. Akira later confronts Shinobu, who claims he was merely concerned about the stranger. Finally, Fumi officially joins the literary club, and Yasuko takes her to the library for their first kiss.
