Ep. 1: Kou falls into the river and accepts Nino's love to repay his debt

Kou Ichinomiya, who strictly avoids owing anyone, loses his pants while retrieving them from a bridge pillar and falls into the river. He is rescued by Nino, a strange girl, which triggers an asthma attack due to his indebtedness. To settle the debt, Kou agrees to fall in love with her, leading him to live with her under the bridge. After enduring a cold night in the villa, Nino introduces Kou to the Village Mayor, a man wearing a kappa suit, who assigns him the name Recruit. Kou discovers that Nino’s living quarters are superior to the villa, though he quickly observes her unusual sleeping habits.
