Apr 5, 2010Kou Ichinomiya, who strictly avoids owing anyone, loses his pants while retrieving them from a bridge pillar and falls into the river. He is rescued by Nino, a strange girl, which triggers an asthma attack due to his indebtedness. To settle the debt, Kou agrees to fall in love with her, leading him to live with her under the bridge. After enduring a cold night in the villa, Nino introduces Kou to the Village Mayor, a man wearing a kappa suit, who assigns him the name Recruit. Kou discovers that Nino’s living quarters are superior to the villa, though he quickly observes her unusual sleeping habits.

The group subsequently hosts a welcome gathering for Stella. During this event, it is revealed that Kou has not yet obtained employment within the village. This revelation creates tension between Kou and Hoshi, leading the two to resolve their disagreement through a musical contest.

Takai and Hoshi question the relationship's authenticity, but Nino surprises everyone, including Kou, by kissing him. Meanwhile, Shimazaki reports her findings to Kou’s father, Seki, who vows to protect the family name from disgrace.

The following day, Kou discovers that Seki has purchased the land beneath the bridge for development purposes. He attempts to alert the Chief and Sister, but they dismiss his concerns. Subsequently, an MLIT official issues a notice requiring all residents to vacate the riverbank, a demand that is poorly received by the community.
EP 11Kou attempts to secure bridge rights by competing with Seki despite family opposition
Jun 14, 2010Kou contemplates departing to protect others, but Nino persuades him to remain. He resolves to utilize one of his companies to challenge Seki for the bridge rights. During this time, a worker employed by Seki is mistaken for Kou and is knocked unconscious by Stella. Kou’s strategy encounters a significant obstacle when his contractors discover he is opposing his father and subsequently withdraw from the project. In an attempt to resolve the issue, Kou decides to contact Seki directly. However, the call fails as he accidentally dials a talking clock instead of reaching his intended target.

Jun 28, 2010The group visits the Arakawa barbershop, operated by Last Samurai, who quickly cuts everyone's hair except Sister's. Kou encounters Billy and Jacqueline, a man with a parrot's head and a girl dressed as a bee, but avoids them. Seeking to satisfy Stella and the Metal Brothers, Kou plans an amusement park under the bridge despite lacking personal experience. After three days of failure, the residents construct it themselves, resulting in a strange park with hazardous attractions. Upon receiving the children's approval, Kou recalls a past visit to a park with Seki.
