Maria overcomes Sister’s physical defense through verbal insults, securing victory despite Sister’s strong resistance. Although her royal decree initially appears to involve clothing for shorn sheep, she compels Kou, Hoshi, Sister, and Last Samurai to act as sheepdogs. Following this, the residents release their wishes into the river. Nino’s desire for eternal togetherness becomes lodged in the water’s center. Kou paddles out to retrieve it, freeing the wish and reassuring Nino of his promise that they will remain together forever.
