A new alien invader orbits Earth, forcing the Atmospheric Fighter group in Alaska to engage it. Ryu, formerly part of this unit before joining FUNERAL, faces pressure as his cover is tested. One fighter sustains severe damage and is repaired at the FUNERAL base, where the pilot is Rick, a close friend of Taketo, Ryu’s true identity. To protect his secret, Ryu avoids Rick, fearing recognition. However, Rick seeks him out, believing Taketo died during the experiment that created Frank. Rick shares personal secrets, including his betrayal of Taketo to pursue Maki, hoping to ease his conscience. This interaction intensifies Ryu’s internal conflict and emotional pain as he navigates the tension between his past relationships and his current mission.
