A traitor holds Ryu and Hattie at gunpoint before locking the guards out of their room. Dan instructs them to proceed while he goes to the brig to free Commander Ines. Meanwhile, Guenevere struggles against an alien opponent. To improve her chances, Sue pilots a damaged ZOD to join the battle. Guenevere focuses on approaching the enemy craft to rescue the captured pilot inside. Her SARG unit successfully extracts the pilot but fails due to heavy damage. The alien then triggers a supernova attack centered on itself. With movement impossible, Guenevere and the rescued pilot remain directly in the path of the explosion.
