After the troupe's success, George gives them a day off. Harvey and TJ plan to visit a flea market, sparking rivalry between Kennosuke and TJ, which annoys Nadja. At the Clignancourt market, a seller attempts to deceive George, who counters with a lesson in caveat venditor. Kennosuke and TJ encounter Fernando Gonzales, an aristocrat bargain-hunting. When Fernando tries to purchase an old clock with sentimental value from shopkeeper Gérard, Nadja slaps him for his insensitivity. Grateful to Kennosuke for repairing the clock, Gérard provides Nadja with a clue about her mother: a music box she sold him ten years prior.
