Granny Anna's intercession for Anselma draws Nadja into the life of Carmén, a fallen flamenco dancer who loves José and visits Anselma. Carmén befriends Nadja, encouraging her to facilitate a reunion between the lovers. While arena guards eject Nadja, mistaking her for an overzealous fan, she encounters José drunk after trashing his room. She informs him that Carmén still loves him. Consequently, José and Carmén reconcile, become engaged, and witness Nadja's flamenco dance performance.
