They overhear Hattori expressing high hopes for them to his fellow editors, though he cannot say it directly. This confession moves the duo, who return with renewed ambition and a concept for a crime manga featuring serious humor. Later, for Azuki's birthday, Mashiro sends her a drawing and receives a rare direct phone call from her.
