The Bladebreakers travel to the USA for the American Tournament. While touring a BBA research facility, Max discovers his mother works there, contrary to his belief that she was at a college. The team learns they are being tested for weaknesses by a rival group. Takao and Rei defeat their opponents with ease. However, Max is quickly defeated by Emily, the assistant to his mother. Emily utilizes her tennis racket as a launcher to win the match against him. This revelation shocks Max, who had previously misunderstood his mother's professional location and role within the organization.
