During the American Tournament semi-finals, the Bladebreakers are scheduled to compete against Spintensity. However, Takao must withdraw from the match because he suffers from a stomachache caused by excessive celebratory eating. Kai steps in to replace him as the team's leader. With Kai taking charge, the group proceeds to the final round. They achieve a perfect score of three during the whirlwind, highway-themed dish challenge known as the New Jersey Turnpike, securing their advancement in the tournament.
