Ep. 1: Tadanaga faces a deadly ninja while young ninjas train in Kii

Tadanaga travels to Edo to see his mother but is blocked by the Ooi River. A mysterious ninja defeats his guards using the Ukigumo technique and nearly kills Tadanaga before five Kouga ninjas intervene. Meanwhile, in Kii, young Iga and Kouga children play dangerous ninja games. Rui, Shikibu Kora, Hachirou, Hachisu, Utsutsu, Saizou Ishi, and Namenba participate. Utsutsu interrupts master Kazuma Kusanagi and is hung in a tree until Hachirou frees her. Masters Gei'in, Tenshin, and Kasou arrive. Gei'in criticizes Kazuma for focusing only on training. He emphasizes the need to protect the bloodlines of the Kouga and Iga clans, specifically Hachirou Kouga and Hibiki Iga. The events highlight the ongoing rivalry and training of the next generation of ninjas in the remote village.
