At the Ooi River, five Kouga ninjas confront Iga attackers. Kaso Himonji employs Grass Fire while Kazuma Kusanagi uses Heaven's Lyre whips, but an Iga ninja cloaks the area in darkness via Darkness Spider. Shichito Gei'in counters with Firefly Squid to illuminate the scene, allowing Tenshin to defeat the enemies using Thousand-Handed Kannon. Jan 23, 2018During early training, Gorone Negoro instructs young ninja that they serve their leaders, not the Kouga or Iga clans, while they study the abilities of Hibiki and Hachirou. At the Ooi River, Gei'in and Kaso locate Kazuma bound to a water wheel, dead from his own Heaven's Lyre. They encounter the killer, Kujaku Tsuibamu, a member of the Joujinshuu who opposes the Five Treasures of Kouga and Five Flowers of Iga. When Kaso attacks with Grass Fire flames, the fire consumes him instead. Gei'in attempts to defeat Kujaku with a poisonous Firefly Squid and a poison burst, but the attack rebounds, killing Gei'in. Hachirou discovers four Kouga Treasures are dead and returns to the village with Hibiki. Gorone urges unity, sending Rui and Shichigen to warn the Iga while others stand guard. Meanwhile, Tadanaga is confronted by former palace official Joujin, who reveals he faces execution by his brother, Shogun Iemitsu.

Jan 30, 2018Iga ninja Tsuta Houetsu encounters Joujinshuu woman Yasha Itaru, who threatens him. He binds her with Root Lasoo but looks into her Destiny's Passage mirror, which reflects his life and fills him with despair, causing him to leap off a cliff. At Ooi River, Joujin summons attendants Kujaku Tsuibamu and Rinne Magoroku. Magoroku uses a spinning technique to transport Tadanaga to Akayashagaruba before the Kokuuzou Bosatsu or Adamantite Tower. Iga ninja searching for Houetsu meet Joujinshuu member Neiri Chiou. Tadanaga travels back in time via Kujaku Tsuibamu's Inverted Halberd of Time, witnessing his brother's sickness and envy. He realizes the Kurokuwa were sent by his brother to kill him, leaving rebellion as his only option. At Jison'in Village, an eagle delivers a cloth with Joujinshuu written in blood from Gei'in. Near Iga village, Rui and Shichigen find remains of the Five Flowers of Iga. At Ooi River, Tadanaga faces the severed heads of Shogyo Kareha, Tsuta Houestsu, Irootoroe Itsuma, and Suiren Shuugetsu. Joujin states he left only Kouga Hachirou and Iga Hibiki alive to show his power.
EP 5The Cherry Blossoms Run Mad
Feb 6, 2018Ninja students face a beast illusion outside Jison'in village. Gorone hides Hachiro and Hibiki in a tunnel while Utsutsu and Shaizou fail against controller Neiri Chiou. Hachisu and Shikibu trick the monster off a cliff, but Rui and Shichigen also fail. Hachiro exits the tunnel to counter Neiri Chiou with his Dojutsu, prompting Joujin to recall him. Hachiro discovers Joujin resists his technique due to self-control conditioning. Joujin summons Yasha Iratu to kill Hachiro and Hibiki using Destiny's Passage. Namenba intervenes, driving Yasha Iratu away. Before fleeing, Hachiro and Hibiki lock eyes, generating a powerful light maelstrom. In the epilogue, Tadanaga returns to the palace. Six months later, Lady Oeyo, the former shogun's wife, passes away.
EP 6Dark clouds gather as Hidetada dies and Tadanaga faces exile while ninjas train for the return of enemies.
Feb 13, 2018In 1630, four years later, Tokugawa Hidetada strips Tadanaga of his lands and privilege for killing monkeys at Sengen Shrine at Suruga. Later that year, Hidetada passes away from illness, and his funeral is held in secret according to his wishes. A year later, Tadanaga is exiled at Takasaki Castle in the distant land of Joushuu (Kouzuke Province). Several years later, the young ninjas have grown while continuing their training in preparation for the day their enemies reappear. They have not seen Hachiro since the battle with Joujin and his agents, although since he left, Hibiki has been conscious of his presence. Meanwhile Hachiro has also honed his skills, in preparation for facing Joujin again. One day, while crossing a suspension bridge, Hachiro encounters a blindfolded stranger who attacks him to test his skills. The stranger introduces himself as Hadaebou, and delivers a message that the Dainagon of Suruga who is exiled in Kouzuke wants to speak with him. He believes a strange, dark moving castle called Murakumo is coming.

Feb 20, 2018Namenba enters Edo Castle to confront the shogun, killing Iga Kurokuwa ninjas who intercept her. She suspects a hidden ally aided her escape and administers a truth potion to the sleeping shogun, learning that Joujin acts independently of his authority. Later, she meets her mysterious helper, Hadaebou. At Jison'in village, ninja girls discuss the dark imperial carriage, the houren, which Hibiki believes carries the Joujinshuu. Meanwhile, at Takasaki Castle, Tadanaga reveals to Hachiro that Joujin manipulated him six years ago into killing monkeys at Sengen Shrine and used Tadanaga’s funds to build the Murakumo. Tadanaga demands Hachiro destroy the vessel and its occupants, but Hachiro refuses to let ninjas serve Tokugawa political aims. Enraged, Tadanaga orders his samurai to kill Hachiro. The attackers wear eye-shades, but Shaizou enables Hachiro to use his Dojutsu technique via Shaizou’s moving eyes, causing the samurai to kill one another. Hachiro departs, though Tadanaga commands his men to follow and eliminate him.

Feb 27, 2018A flashback to Edo Castle eighteen years prior shows Tenkai suggesting a ninja duel to the shogun to resolve succession disputes and prevent war. In the present, Bunnoshin attempts to capture Hachiro using archers led by a man with sensitive hearing, but Shichigen’s crickets distract the commander, allowing Hachiro to destroy the group with his Dojutsu. Subsequent traps involving riflemen under Gorouza the Hawk also fail due to Shikibu’s ambush and Hachiro’s abilities, leading Gorouza to shoot himself. Hachiro rejects his comrades' assistance to seek revenge alone. He later meets Gobo, Tenkai’s ninja monk, who proposes an alliance against Joujin and his new Rain forces. Meanwhile, Utsutsu and Rui investigate the Murakumo, encountering disguised Rain fighters at Suruga and fighting them off with their unique skills.

Shaizou uses his technique to view inside the Murakumo, protected by others, seeing a figure resembling Kazusanosuke who crumbles to dust. Mar 13, 2018Seventeen years ago, during the summer Campaign at Osaka in the 20th year of the Keichou Era, handmaid Otashi reveals to Senhime that she is Namemba, an Iga ninja. In the present at Edo Castle, Tenkai seeks Tadanaga and contacts Hadaebou. Hadaebou visits Jison'in village to request ninja aid against Joujin and the Murakumo, but they decline. The Kishuu prepare to attack the Murakumo with cannons, yet Joujin reassures Tadanaga of their defenses before destroying the Kishuu forces with his own cannons. Flashbacks show Senhime as Hideyori's wife and Tokugawa Ieyasu's granddaughter, with Nambemba escaping with her before Sakazaki Naomori rescues her. In the present, Gorone plans to destroy the Murakumo using Hadaebou's intelligence on the Joujinshuu. Tenkai learns of the attack and decides Tadanaga must face consequences for his alliance with Joujin.

Mar 20, 2018During armor fitting, Gorone instructs Shikibu Kora to move like a rhinoceros. Intruders appear, and Hachisu engages them, but a massive one-eyed bandaged man resists her attacks and corners her. Shikibu intervenes, but the intruder matches his strength, forcing both into a crevasse. A flashback reveals Shikibu’s lonely fate as a bandaged boy. Meanwhile, Hibiki delivers armor, causing Shikibu severe pain as his body rejects it. Hachisu wraps him to ease suffering, reminding him of his duty. Hibiki meets the intruder, who blocks her gaze. Hachiro then strikes the intruder with his sword, causing him to vanish. Shikibu and Hachisu find the wounded man, and Shikibu uses his full power to kill him.
EP 12Four ninjas execute a plan to destroy the Murakumo while facing a deadly ambush
Mar 27, 2018Rui, Shichigen, Shaizou, and Utsutsu depart to destroy the Murakumo following Gorone's plan. Hachisu and Shikibu soon return to the village. The four approach the target by boat, with Rui and Shichigen preparing to fight defending Rain fighters. Shichigen recalls learning to control insects. Rui distracts enemies while Shichigen attacks, but they fall into a trap and face heavy rifle fire, leaving Shichigen wounded in the thigh. Hibiki, Hachisu, and re-armored Shikibu leave to follow. Surrounded, Rui and Shichigen meet Hachiro. Using insect control and his Dojutsu technique, Hachiro defeats most Rain fighters, while Rui eliminates the last survivor. Shichigen remembers his mother's death by a samurai and naming his technique "Wind Through the Pines".
EP 13Utsutsu confronts her traumatic past while battling the Rain with illusions.
Apr 3, 2018Rui and Shichigen signal for help after separating from Hachiro, prompting Shaizou and Utsutsu to assist while being surrounded by the Rain. Utsutsu attempts to use her Dreaming Reality technique, but a smoke bomb neutralizes her illusions. Shaizou then amplifies the effect to instill fear in the Rain, though it harms him as well. A flashback reveals young Utsutsu’s training under her father, who burned himself to death to force her to master the technique. In the present, Hachiro allows Hadaebou to infiltrate the Murakumo to rescue Tadanaga. Shaizou’s cannon fire is deflected by Kujaku Tsuibamu, while Joujin confronts Hadaebou, reminding him that Tenkai ordered Tadanaga’s elimination if he could not be saved.

Apr 17, 2018Tenkai is credited with destroying the Murakumo in Edo, though Gorone suspects foul play due to the lack of debris. The ninjas resume café operations while monitoring the Joujinshuu. Shichigen experiences manipulated visions of his past orchestrated by the Joujinshuu. In Kyoto, Hachiro searches for the Kamagawa village, hearing rumors of Nobunaga’s ghost. Hibiki encounters a vision of Hachiro’s love, induced by Joujin, and is led away by Neiri Chiou, who incapacitates the pursuing Iga. Hachiro then confronts Kujaku. During their duel, Kujaku initially evades Hachiro’s Ouka, but Hachiro later counters the Inverted Halberd of Time using a cherry branch, wounding Kujaku. Meanwhile, a new Murakumo emerges near the Iga village.

Apr 24, 2018Namemba and Hachisu witness Hibiki being taken into the new Murakumo by the Joujinshuu. Hachisu attacks Rain lookouts and is unexpectedly aided by Hadaebou. Back in the village, Hachisu, Rui, Utsutsu, and Namemba organize a rescue mission, while Gorone and Namemba recall their first meeting. The pair later plant explosives in the Murakumo's path, but the attempt fails. They encounter Hadaebou again and reluctantly agree to cooperate with him. Meanwhile, Hachiro is trapped by Itaru in her Destiny's Passage mirror. Hadaebou and three female Iga ninjas climb the Murakumo's walls. Inside, Hibiki wakes up and sees someone from her past.

Shaizou’s eyes accidentally view Yasha Itaru’s Destiny’s Passage mirror, transporting him to childhood memories of helping his father cheat at cards and being beaten for failing his duty. As the Murakumo advances, Joujin proposes a peace plan to Hachiro, acknowledging casualties from Demon King Lord Nobunaga’s arrival. He urges Hachiro and Hibiki to consummate their love and sacrifice themselves. Hachiro refuses the proposal, leading to a confrontation where Hibiki approaches him with murderous intent.
EP 20Shikibu and Hachisu assault Murakumo while Hachiro faces controlled Hibiki and Magoroku
May 22, 2018Shikibu and Hachisu launch a frontal attack on the Murakumo, while Hachiro allows the Joujin-controlled Hibiki to strike him before she mistakes him for Gennosuke. Rinne Magoroku attempts to manipulate Hachiro using his Adamantite Tower. Elsewhere, Shichigen, Rui, and Utsutsu ascend the Murakumo, where Shichigen encounters Yasha Itaru. She uses her Destiny's Passage mirror to create an illusion of his mother, causing Shichigen to attack and wound Shikibu and Hachisu. Itaru forces Shikibu to remove his armor, but Hachisu shoots her despite being handless, breaking the spell. Shikibu then kills Itaru as his body explodes. Joujin awaits for Hachiro and Hibiki to consummate their relationship, believing he controls them.
EP 21Rui and Utsutsu confront Neiri Chiou while Shichigen attacks under Itaru's control
May 29, 2018Rui and Utsutsu locate Neiri Chiou, allowing Rei to stab him, but his body heals and his demon god displays the injuries. They encounter Shichigen, who is controlled by Itaru. Namemba returns to the Murakumo with explosives and meets Hadaebou, who offers assistance. Shichigen attacks Rui and Utsutsu, but Rui reaches him, causing Shichigen to stab himself, which simultaneously injures Neiri Chiou. Utsutsu then decapitates the old Joujinshuu. At the top of the Murakumo, Hachiro attempts to break Joujin's control over Hibiki when Hadaebou bursts in and attacks Rinne Magoroku. As Rui and Utsutsu race upward, Neiri Chiou makes a final attempt to kill them before his demon god succumbs to the wounds, and he appears to fall to his death.

Illusions from Rui and Utsutsu confuse Joujin, allowing Hibiki to strike. Wounded, Joujin advances on Hibiki but is stabbed from behind by Kujaku. Kukaku recalls 1582, when master Nobunaga renamed him Ranmaru to Kujaku before his compound burned, urging him to preserve his conquest dream. Kujaku serves his original master; as Joujin's blood falls on Nobunaga's skull, Kujaku places it on Tadanaga's body, resurrecting Nobunaga. Joujin is pleased, but Nobunaga dismisses him and does not recognize Kujaku. Namemba arrives, triggering explosions to destroy the Murakumo, but Kujaku's Inverted Halberd of Time reverses them. Rinne Magoroku cuts the fuses to prevent recurrence, yet Nobunaga suddenly stabs Kujaku with his katana, declaring he is not as beautiful as his former Ranmaru.

Tadanaga’s consciousness then battles Nobunaga for bodily control, leading Nobunaga to sever his own head. Hachiro and Hibiki flee while Kujaku destroys his Inverted Halberd of Time, but Rinne Magoroku counters this with his Adamantite Tower, trapping them in a timeless space. Rinne attacks Hachiro with twin blades for revenge, but Hachiro defeats him. The pair follows an apparition of Shaizou into an abyss, witnessing a vision of the Murakumo burning Edo while the Joujin and his Joujinshuu watch. They fail to recognize the ninja and remain unsure of their location.

Jun 19, 2018In an alternate world, Hachiro and Hibiki swiftly defeat the Joujinshuu using their Ouka, leaving only Joujin. Hachiro kills him but plans to abandon Hibiki, who blinds herself to keep him. Joujin survives due to Tenzen’s power and cuts Hachiro. Hachiro uses his Ouka to awaken Tenzen’s hatred, forcing Joujin to commit suicide. Later, blind Hibiki trains young Iga ninja. Joujin reappears, resurrected by Tenzen, and proposes raping Hibiki to merge their bloodlines. The spirit of Hachiro within Hibiki emerges, cutting Joujin to pieces and finally killing both Joujin and Tenzen.
