Ep. 22: Joujin's defeat leads to Nobunaga's resurrection and Kujaku's betrayal.
Joujin prepares to kill Hachiro and Hibiki while Rui and Utsutsu lie dying on a giant stairway. Hadaebou attacks Kujaku as Hachiro engages Joujin. Illusions from Rui and Utsutsu confuse Joujin, allowing Hibiki to strike. Wounded, Joujin advances on Hibiki but is stabbed from behind by Kujaku. Kukaku recalls 1582, when master Nobunaga renamed him Ranmaru to Kujaku before his compound burned, urging him to preserve his conquest dream. Kujaku serves his original master; as Joujin's blood falls on Nobunaga's skull, Kujaku places it on Tadanaga's body, resurrecting Nobunaga. Joujin is pleased, but Nobunaga dismisses him and does not recognize Kujaku. Namemba arrives, triggering explosions to destroy the Murakumo, but Kujaku's Inverted Halberd of Time reverses them. Rinne Magoroku cuts the fuses to prevent recurrence, yet Nobunaga suddenly stabs Kujaku with his katana, declaring he is not as beautiful as his former Ranmaru.
