Ep. 18: Neiri Chiou’s illusion traps allies while Joujin forces Tadanaga’s tragic end and Gorone sacrifices himself.
Neiri Chiou conjures a demon god illusion to dislodge Namemba and Hachisu from the Murakumo wall, where they encounter Hachiro and Shichigen. Concurrently, Hadaebou attempts to persuade Tadanaga to abandon Joujin, but Joujin intervenes, declaring Tadanaga merely a vessel to revive Oda Kazusanosuke Nobunaga. Joujin compels Tadanaga to stab Hadaebou and offers him a chance for seppuku. Tadanaga instead curses Joujin and is decapitated. Hadaebou, still alive, retrieves the head and flees. Neiri Chiou evades Hachiro’s Dojutsu by keeping his eyes shut, prompting Shichigen to summon insects that attract birds to distract the illusionist. Gorone arrives in a mechanized vehicle, arming ninjas with cannons and firing barbed projectiles that sever Neiri Chiou’s right arm, though Gorone dies in the process. Hachiro then urges the Iga ninjas to risk their lives to rescue Hibiki.
