Bruce Wayne reflects on his parents' murder while Deadshot prepares for a hit. In Wayne Manor, Alfred questions Bruce's gun collection, but Bruce insists he would never use one. Deadshot assassinates a socialite and meets his client, who warns that Gotham is changing and suggests targeting James Gordon to help Russian associates. Deadshot dismisses the risk, but the client remains concerned. Batman assists Detective Crispus Allen in protecting Gordon, using data from Ronald Marshall to track Deadshot. Batman anticipates the attack on the Gotham L Bridge and pursues Deadshot on a moving train. Despite Batman's efforts to deflect the bullet, he is shot and falls. Deadshot reveals the true target was Batman all along. Batman recovers, destroys Deadshot's weapons, and captures him. Bruce hands Deadshot to the GCPD, reflecting on his lifelong struggle to stop the bullets that killed his parents, before seeing the Batsignal.
