Nephrite, the second of the Four Kings of Heaven, assumes the role of Beryl's primary energy collector. He shifts strategy to extract power from individual humans at their peak rather than from groups, selecting Rue, a tennis player and Naru's childhood friend, as his initial target. To approach her, he adopts the alias Masato Sanjouin, posing as a wealthy businessman and socialite. Usagi and Naru are thrilled by his arrival at the sports club, where he interferes in a match to manipulate Rue via her racket. Luna eventually uncovers the true identity of the adversary, revealing him to be part of the Dark Kingdom.
