Ep. 1: Ichigo gains Shinigami powers to defeat Fishbone D after Rukia is injured

Fifteen-year-old Ichigo Kurosaki, a high school student with orange hair, brown eyes, and the ability to see spirits, witnesses a battle between a female Soul Reaper and a hollow while protecting a girl's spirit. He later meets the Soul Reaper, Rukia Kuchiki, in his room, where she explains that their duty involves soul cleansing. The hollow, identified as Fishbone D, returns to absorb Ichigo's high spiritual energy and attacks his home, wounding Rukia. To save his family, Ichigo absorbs Rukia's power, transforming into a Soul Reaper himself to successfully defeat the enemy. This event marks the beginning of the Agent of the Shinigami arc, specifically the first installment out of twenty.
