Ichigo Inoue learns that Orihime Inoue is being stalked by the hollow Acidwire, the spirit of her older brother who transformed after she ceased praying for him. This revelation causes Ichigo to hesitate in fulfilling his duties. However, he ultimately overcomes his qualms about killing hollows and accepts his role as a substitute Soul Reaper. He defeats Acidwire, who reverts to his gentle nature to express love and gratitude toward Orihime before being sent to the Soul Society. This event marks the third installment of the Agent of the Shinigami arc.
