Hitsugaya battles Shawlong while using his bankai but is overpowered. Renji, also in bankai, struggles against Illfort. Meanwhile, Ichigo begins fighting Grimmjow, who urges him to use his bankai. Illfort and Shawlong release their zanpakutou, and Shawlong explains the arrancar ranking structure to Hitsugaya. Later, Rangiku receives confirmation from Soul Society that they are permitted to lift their power limits. Consequently, Hitsugaya, Rangiku, and Renji remove these restrictions.
