Ep. 235: Hisagi confronts Kazeshini while Renji struggles against Zabimaru and Ichigo battles Muramasa internally.
Juushirou Ukitake and Shunsui Kyouraku debate whether destroying zanpakutou spirits eliminates the weapons themselves. Renji fights Zabimaru, who mocks his weakness, while Hisagi battles Kazeshini and resolves to kill the spirit despite potential loss of his own zanpakutou. Inside Ichigo’s mind, his inner hollow fights Muramasa until Muramasa restrains him. Ichigo then perceives through Muramasa’s powers to save his inner hollow, asserting that the hollow is part of him. He forces Muramasa out of his mind to continue the fight externally. When Zabimaru threatens Rukia, Renji recalls Ichigo’s and his own reasons for fighting, regaining his resolve to activate Zabimaru’s shikai. This event occurs during the Zanpakutou Unknown Tales arc, specifically episode 6 of 26.
