Ichigo Kurosaki continues his search for Byakuya Kuchiki and encounters the zanpakutou spirits Haineko and Tobiume, who are hunting Hyourinmaru. Rangiku Matsumoto and Momo Hinamori arrive to battle their respective spirits. Momo casts a kidou spell that knocks Tobiume into Haineko, triggering an argument between the two. Meanwhile, Ichigo meets Hyourinmaru, who has forgotten his name and master. He tries to freeze Ichigo and depart, but Toushirou Hitsugaya intervenes. In a separate location, Muramasa encounters and kills a large group of Gillians. This segment is part of the Zanpakutou Unknown Tales arc, specifically episode 9 of 26.
