Kazeshini attacks Hisagi, but Izuru Kira uses kidou to bind the enemy, allowing them to escape. Meanwhile, Renji struggles against Zabimaru, who activates bankai while Renji cannot. Renji tricks Zabimaru into taking his sword, breaks it with kidou, and defeats the entity by firing the shards. Ichigo battles Zangetsu, who also activates bankai. Ichigo combines forces with his inner hollow to use Getsuga Tenshou, defeating Zangetsu and forcing Muramasa to retreat. Zangetsu explains that Muramasa is using a technique to awaken zanpakutou instincts, enabling him to control them. This event occurs during the Zanpakutou Unknown Tales arc on 7/26.
