Flashbacks reveal Aizen’s hollowification experiments on exiled Soul Reapers, explaining the origin of the Vizards. In the present, Shinji Hirako clarifies to Yamamoto that the Vizards oppose Aizen, with Ichigo as the sole exception. Wonderweiss orders Hooleer to summon numerous Menos, which the Vizards swiftly defeat. Hirako confronts Aizen but is halted by Tousen, who is then joined by Sajin Komamura. Halibel escapes the ice to attack Hitsugaya, supported by Hiyori Sarugaki and Lisa Yadoumaru. Mashiro Kuna defeats Hooleer, while Love Aikawa and Roujuurou "Rose" Otoribashi face Stark. Shuuhei Hisagi interrupts Komamura and Tousen, seeking to aid in the battle.
