Baraggan survives Soi Fon's Bankai but loses half his face. He attacks Hachi with Respira, destroying his hand, which Hachi teleports into Baraggan's body to accelerate his decay. Flashbacks reveal Baraggan was once Hueco Mundo's ruler before Aizen, Gin, and Tousen dethroned him. As Baraggan deteriorates, he recalls his vow to reclaim the throne and throws his axe at Aizen, but it disintegrates before impact. Baraggan dies from his rapid aging. Stark witnesses the death with distress and vows to avenge him. This event occurs during the Arrancar: Downfall arc, specifically episode 16 of 39. The narrative highlights the consequences of Baraggan's past defeat and the loyalty of his subordinate Stark.
