Ichigo Kurosaki defeats Ginjou by utilizing his restored Soul Reaper powers, which were granted by various captains and lieutenants. Toushirou Hitsugaya discloses that Ginjou was the original Substitute Soul Reaper. Chad and Orihime approach the scene, puzzled by the attack on Ginjou. Tsukishima attempts to alter their memories, but Urahara and Isshin incapacitate him. Ginjou fulfills his promise by granting new powers to the remaining Xcution members. Ichigo tries to stop them, but Yukio uses his abilities to protect his comrades and separate the group. Kenpachi Zaraki swiftly kills Kutsuzawa by cutting him in half. This event concludes the Lost Substitute Shinigami arc, specifically episode 19 of 23.
