Kariya and the Bounts enter Sereitei with help from Kusajishi inhabitants, only for Kariya to kill them after deeming their usefulness over. He then sends the Bounts to eliminate Soul Reaper captains while advancing deeper into the district. Second division captain Soi Fon orders her troops to attack the invaders, but the Bount Mabashi utilizes his doll Ritz to seize control of her men. When Soi Fon requests a status report, one of the possessed soldiers attacks her with a bitto, escalating the conflict within Soul Society during this critical phase of the arc.
