Students prepare for the school festival as Hagino returns and Michiko secures overnight hall access. Yuuko confronts Hagino with a gun, prompting Hagino to reveal her goal of protecting the planet from the Arume invasion. Meanwhile, on Shivariel’s ship, Azanael accuses Shivariel of causing the Blue Emiru Force Drive explosion to cover up a new thought-wave weapon test on Kamioki Island. Azanael attempts to assassinate Shivariel but kills only a decoy. Shivariel uses the weapon to materialize Azanael’s fears, allowing the crew to shoot her, though Azanael escapes. At the festival, Mari’s grandmother arrives, and Mari admits she is beginning to understand why she was sent to the school. Mari later speaks with Hagino, admonishing her for hiding the Kamioki Island explosion, and the two confess their love for each other.
