To gather necessary materials, Mari and Hagino travel to town, while Azanael observes them alongside Tsubael with skepticism regarding Hagino’s motives. After shopping, the pair rides a ferris wheel, where Mari requests to walk home together. During their walk, Mari sustains an injury, and heavy rain forces them to seek shelter in an abandoned restaurant for the night. Huddled under a blanket, Mari recalls how Hagino saved her life five years ago. As Mari tearfully embraces Hagino, Azanael becomes enraged that Hagino chose to save Mari instead of Onomil.
