Oct 3, 2007Mari Wakatake resents being sent by her grandmother to Kaihō Academy. During the journey, she observes a girl standing on a rock surrounded by birds. Upon arrival, the headmaster meets Mari and learns from her attorney that she lost her memories following an incident on Kamioki Island five years ago. A student named Michiko Kōzuki shows Mari around the campus. In her dorm, the leader Hiroko Funatsumaru introduces Mari to Hagino Senkouji, who suddenly chokes Mari while her eyes turn blue. Mari flees in anger but is comforted by Michiko, who advises her to befriend Hagino. At dinner, Mari attacks Hagino again. Later that night, Mari follows Hagino outside and witnesses a giant alien ship rising from the water.

Azanael, whose lover Onomil died in the event, tries to attack Hagino but is stopped. Meanwhile, at school, Mari discusses her writing with Michiko. Upperclassman Akane Kawashima treats them to lunch, sharing her cooking ambitions and urging Mari to open up to Hagino. Thugs then kidnap Mari just as Shivariel sends a probe to retrieve her. Hagino destroys the probe, leading Mari to tearfully embrace her.

The girls face challenges such as changing diapers and feeding the infant but eventually soothe the baby. Hagino presents the found shell to Tsubael as a gift. At the festival, Mari’s grandmother arrives, and Mari admits she is beginning to understand why she was sent to the school. Mari later speaks with Hagino, admonishing her for hiding the Kamioki Island explosion, and the two confess their love for each other.

After Azanael saves Blue from destruction, Mari watches tearfully as Hagino ejects Tsubael and crashes into Shivariel’s ship, destroying both. Hagino dies reciting her lines, while Mari hopes her sacrifice brings hope. Thirty years later, Michiko leads a peace mission shuttle toward an Arume vessel, expressing confidence that everything will be fine.
