While searching for the thief, she survives a bombing orchestrated by beastkin mercenaries hired by anti-beastkin humans. Shirou Ogami, a wolf beastkin, saves Michiru from the explosion and violently attacks the perpetrators before Michiru intervenes. During this confrontation, Michiru reveals her past as a human. The incident highlights the tensions between humans and beastkin in this world where both species coexist, as Michiri navigates the aftermath of the sabotage and her own hidden history amidst the chaos caused by the hired mercenaries.
