In the 21st century, the presence of animal-humans became known after being concealed for much of history. Michiru, who had lived as a regular human, transforms unexpectedly into a tanuki-human. She flees to Anima City, a designated area established a decade earlier to allow animal-humans to live freely. There, she meets Shirou, a wolf-human with a strong dislike for humans. Through him, Michiru begins to understand the concerns, daily lives, and experiences of animal-humans. As the two seek answers about Michiru’s transformation, they become involved in a significant event.
