Satoru awakens in 2003 after a fifteen-year coma caused by Yashiro’s assassination attempt, suffering from severe memory loss regarding the attacker. During rehabilitation, Kayo, now a housewife with a child, urges him to improve his mobility. Satoru also encounters Kumi, a leukemia patient scheduled for surgery, and Yashiro, who has entered politics. On the eve of Kumi’s operation, Yashiro takes Satoru to the rooftop, triggering the return of his forgotten memories.
