EP 1Satoru Fujinuma travels back to 1988 after his mother's murder in 2006
Jan 8, 2016In 2006, 29-year-old manga artist Satoru Fujinuma uses his "Revival" ability to save a boy from a truck, resulting in his hospitalization. His mother, Sachiko, reminds him of the 1988 kidnapping and murder of two classmates by Jun Shiratori. After Sachiko identifies a suspicious man as the true killer, she is murdered in Satoru's home. Satoru discovers her body and is immediately accused of the crime. Triggered by this tragedy, his Revival power sends him back in time to 1988, when he was an 11-year-old elementary school student, setting the stage for him to confront the past events and the true culprit responsible for the murders.

On March 3rd, Kayo plans to claim responsibility for the abduction to protect others. That night, an unknown figure enters the bus while Kayo sleeps.

Investigators discover a rucksack containing tools previously used to frame Jun for Kayo's murder, along with a briquette. Recognizing that the abduction killer remains active, Satoru brings Kayo to his residence for safety, where Sachiko is waiting. The following day, Satoru and Sachiko return to Kayo's house to confront her mother regarding the suspicious events and the evidence found inside the abandoned bag.
